R. Wayne Wood, M.D.

Dr. Wood’s current practice specialties are general orthopedics and fracture care. He has practiced in Tucson for 30 years. He is board certifi ed in orthopedic surgery. His philosophy is to take care of the patient first.
Dr. Wood earned his medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed an internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, an orthopedic residency at Harbor – UCLA Medical
Center and a fellowship in hand surgery at Los Angeles Orthopedic Hospital.
Professionally, Dr. Wood has held many leadership roles. He is a former president of the Arizona Chapter
of the Western Orthopaedic Association, former chief of staff at El Dorado Hospital and former chairman of the department of surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Jerome Steck, D.P.M

Dr. Steck is a board certified podiatric surgeon specializing in trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. His expertise is in total ankle replacement, trauma, nerve problems, and all disorders of the foot and ankle. His utmost concern is that his patients receive the highest level of care, in a professional and empathetic environment.
Dr. Steck received his bachelors of science from Brigham Young University. He graduated Sum Cum Laude from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. His surgical residency was at the University of Wisconsin Medical School Western Campus in LaCrosse. He is an instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago to train surgeons in ankle replacement. He also travels across the country to lend his expertise to surgeons for difficult cases and lectures nationally on foot and ankle disorders.
Dr. Steck is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is currently serving on their board of directors.
Robert C. Kersey, M.D.

Dr. Kersey is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in sports medicine. From recreational to professional athletes, he has experience treating all levels of sports injuries.
Dr. Kersey received his undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from the University of Arizona. He then stayed at the university to obtain his medical degree and orthopedic training. After completing his fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the University of California at San Diego, he returned to Tucson to join SAO August, 2000. Since then, he has served as associate team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tucson Sidewinders baseball teams. He has also worked as an instructor for other physicians on arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery as well as on the board of the Arizona Orthopaedic Society.
Timothy B. Dixon, M.D.

Dr. Dixon returned to Tucson to join SAO in August 2005, upon completion of his post-graduate training. He is board certified in orthopedics and joint-replacement surgery. Dr. Dixon specializes in primary and revision total joint replacement, fracture care and knee arthroscopy. He prides himself on working to obtain optimal patient care.
Dr. Dixon received his medical degree with honors from the University of Arizona. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery and his fellowship in total joint replacement at Scott & White Memorial Hospital which is affiliated with Texas A & M University.
R. Mark Blew, M.D.

Dr. Blew is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He practices all aspects of orthopedic care. With more than 30 years of experience in the Tucson area, Dr. Blew is well-known for his orthopedic expertise in joint replacements and arthroscopy.
Dr. Blew earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He interned at Andrews Air Force Base and completed his residency in orthopedics at the University of Massachusetts.
He has previously served in a variety of leadership positions locally, including Chief of Surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Davis-Monthan USAF Hospital. He is a past president of the Tucson Orthopedic Society and the Arizona Orthopedic Society.
