Dear Drs. Dixon and Steck:

It has been six months since a fall from a ladder caused multiple breaks to my arm, shoulder and foot. I just want to thank both of you for your hard work, patience and caring manner in putting me back together. We are truly blessed to have had Dr. Dixon on call the afternoon of my fall and to have his immediate and full attention for that entire first evening. His recommendation to delay the foot surgery until Dr. Steck’s return to Tucson was advice well taken and benefitted me greatly.

I will not forget Dr. Dixon’s words to me as he was dismissing me from the hospital, “I will NOT fix you” in the event I did not follow his and Dr. Steck’s
strict directions for recovery at home. I followed the instructions to the letter, and thanks to those instructions and a very strong supportive husband and family,
I am fully recovered from what was a terrible situation.

My most vivid memory of the whole event was Dr. Dixon telling me that he would have to delay surgery because of the swelling, and my telling him that was okay, I’d just go home and wait until he was ready. 1 think that was right after I had told him that actually, my right arm really was not broken as he’d just told me, but instead he was seeing a scar from when I had broken it at age 10! Obviously I was heavily medicated at the time!

Again many thanks to both of you, as well as Carmen and Sharon who were so helpful to me. I feel very fortunate to have been your patient.
Sincerely,

Kathy D.
